I Have Thinning Hair
We are a Leader in Providing Solutions for Thinning Hair & Androgenetic Alopecia
Androgenetic Alopecia, or female pattern thinning hair, is the most common hair loss condition, comprising 85% of all female hair loss.
Although Angrogentic Alopecia is common, it affects approximately 2.2 million women in Australia, it can be an isolating experience for women going through it. Often women experiencing thinning hair feel too self-conscious to socialise with friends or participate in activities they would normally enjoy. It can be difficult to reach out for help as feelings of hopelessness set in.
There is hope, however, with Transitions Hair. We have a depth of experience treating Androgenetic Alopecia with our range of genuine hair loss treatments. Not only are we able to restore your hair but we can help you recapture a more positive outlook on life, with new confidence.

The causes of Androgenetic Alopecia
(Female pattern thinning hair)
Androgenetic Alopecia is linked to hormonal imbalances with an over-production of Dihydrotestoterone (DHT) around the hair follicle, eventually slowing down hair production to a point where it goes into a hibernation-like state. This usually occurs throughout the front, top and crown areas of the scalp, it may even affect regions on the side of the head.
Thinning hair, sometimes known as diffuse hair loss (telogen effluvium) can be caused by a number of factors, including:
- Hormonal imbalances
- Stress (emotional and physical)
- Anxiety disorders such as trichotillomania
- Child Birth
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Certain medications
Most women do not go bald or lose their front hairline, but it may result in significant thinning hair, with the hairs becoming progressively finer in texture, more difficult to style and eventually it becomes impossible to grow hair to the length they once had. If you begin to see small patches of baldness, it is most likely Alopecia Areata.

"I now wear a large topette of human European hair. It feels beautiful to run my fingers through! My hairdresser says it has been lovely hair to cut and style. She doesn’t have to manipulate its texture or direction. The colour looks very natural and I am totally confident that the fact that it does not grow from my scalp is undetectable among the public and my large workplace.
I hardly comb it which sounds odd but due to the quality it does not need a lot of work on it.
I know it is superior as I have worn other topettes of asian or indian hair origin for 10 years. I feel more psychologically and physically connected to this piece as it is closer to my European genes. I feel amazing in it – the hair I have always wanted!"

Hi Transitions, It's been a while since we last saw you and I just wanted to keep you up to date with Lucy's progress. Basically you saved her! The Follea wig you fitted her with is absolutely amazing, completely natural looking and really beautiful. She went from being depressed and sad to her old lively self again, enjoying bike riding, dancing and sleep overs.
"I’m really thankful to have met the people at Transitions. They understood what I was going through with my hair loss and were very empathetic to my needs - it was quite different from other places I had visited. Most importantly, I love what they have done for my hair, it looks great! I feel so much more confident. I would have no trouble in recommending Transitions to anyone. I wish I had of visited them first!"

"I thought the gripper wigs were amazing. I like how it has a lace front and it looks like it's growing from your scalp. It is lighter, it allows your scalp to breathe better, i can feel the wind in my hair again"
"The hair is great quality, and yes! it IS undetectable. I have female AGA, and I actually went to consult Andrew with a view to finding out what i might wear in the future as my condition worsens, but I was so taken with the product, I just went with it. My advice is to put your nerves aside - and go see Andrew. None of us love confronting our condition, but you will feel SO much better with the results."
