One of the big fears you might have when considering a wig as your hair loss solution is how to make it look natural. If you know what you’re doing, a wig or a crown extension can be the no-surgery option for thicker, fuller, more beautiful hair. However, the process can be a little daunting so we have some tips on how to style your hair piece to end up with the most natural looking hair possible.
Try it on – You won’t know how it is going to look until you try it. Every woman’s skin tone, eye colour, face shape, style and natural hair colour is different. All of this comes in to consideration when finding the perfect hair piece for you. At Transitions Hair we try to make this step a little easier by having our hair loss consultant Andrew assist in the process during your consultation.
Pay attention to the hairline – The hair line of your wig should like up with your own natural hairline. However, front lace wigs work wonders, making the hairline invisible.
Don’t stress on the part and the length – All of this can be changed! You can cut and style it as if it is your natural hair. We also have amazing stylists that are more than happy to offer their expertise and help you make any styling decisions.
Go to a specialist hairdresser – Unlike natural hair, your hairpiece won’t grow back, so it is very important to make sure that the stylist has experience with wigs.
Stick to (or close to) your current or former style – This is important if you are nervous about your hairpiece. You will feel a lot more comfortable if you feel like ‘you’.
If you are considering a hair piece or a wig, we offer an obligation free, confidential consultation with a hair loss specialist who will be more than happy to assist you in finding the perfect one! To make an appointment please call 1300 427 778
