Rogaine

Baldness Treatments: Rogaine
Rogaine (or Regaine)  is the trade name for the generic ‘Minoxidil’.  Rogaine was one of the first drugs to be approved for hair regrowth. Rogaine was initially developed to help combat high  high blood pressure, but it was soon discovered that it actually helped reverse baldness and cause hair regrowth.  Today it is a popular treatment for baldness prevention.  Nobody fully understands how or why Minoxidil helps promote hair regrowth, or treat baldness simply that it does.

Results of Rogaine:

Rogaine (or regaine) is most effective in men aged between 18-41, who have recently lost hair in the crown or vertex region of their scalp.  Around the front of the scalp, where the majority of people experience hair loss, Rogaine is largely ineffective – or at least, less effective than around the crown area.

85% of of male users of Rogaine who fit the above category experience hair regrowth.  The degree of hair regrowth varies widely from one male to the next.  Clinical trial data suggests that the number of people who experience significant hair regrowth is small.  It will take a few months of consistent use before you can expect to see any new hair regrowth from Rogaine.  After 9-12 months of consistent use, one can determine if Rogaine is working for you.
NOTE: if you don’t experience significant hair regrowth from using Rogaine, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t working.  It might simply indicate that is has stopped or significantly slowed the rate of hair loss.  If you stop using Rogaine, you will quickly begin to lose any new hair growth and/or hair that was prevented from falling out since you began using Rogaine.  Usually, you will begin to experience rapid hair loss to where it should have fallen out naturally had you not used Rogaine.
