Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much does it cost?
When considering the best solution for you there are many factors to consider e.g. what is the extent of your hair loss, how much hair do want, which procedure do you feel most comfortable with, what is your personal lifestyle, is it alopecia, etc. All of these things need to be considered before giving you a recommendation which ultimately affects the  amount of your investment into your appearance – fortunately, we have various hair replacment options that will suit most people’s budget. We offer a FREE consultation, so you can find out what will be the best option for you within your required budget.

Q.  My hair has just started thinning, what should I do??

Take action today! Come in for a FREE consultation   most people live in denial that they are losing their hair and usually wait until it is too late!  It is much better to come in now and find out the present state of your hair loss.  Find out how we can help you keep your hair, potentially stop the hair loss and assist hair regrowth.  Call us now on 08-8239-2243.

Q. How long will it take to grow my hair back?

Hair growth and the rate of hair growth varies as much as one person's biology to the next. Hair growth, just like hair loss, can be a slow process. Usually by the time we see you, you will have been experiencing hair thinning for a few years. Under our Laser Hair Retention Program most of our clients see hair growth within the first 8 weeks.  If your hair is in advanced stages of thinning hair, a laser hair growth program may not be suitable for you. The best and the easiest way to find out what will be best for you is to call us for a FREE consultation it will only take a few moments of your time and we will be able to discuss your options.

Q. How long will it take until I can have a full head of hair with Sensi-graft?

You can restore your hair in 48hrs with our new Genetix procedure! (conditions apply)  For a Sensigraft solution, it will take approximately six weeks.

Q. Can I have my hair restored gradually?

Absolutely. Many people enjoy our 'gradual alopecia reduction' process. Simply, we restore your hair in a similar way to how you lost it, one hair or even several hairs at a time. This can be completed as quickly or as slowly as you feel comfortable. As your confidence grows we will restore more and more hair until you reach your desired look.

Q. Is it undetectable?

Yes! Read our testimonials and have a look at our photo gallery. You'll see that your new hair will be entirely undetectable. Of course, if you have very thin hair one day and a moderately more the next, people may notice. But, most people are very happy that you've decided to improve your appearance. In fact, they are quietly astonished that such a natural appearance is possible to achieve. Not to mention how much younger you'll look. People are very supportive of anyone who improves their appearance, soon they forget how you used to look (bald or thinning hair) and only think of you as you now are, with hair – looking younger, excited and more confident.

Q. I'm older in age and I don't want a lot of hair.

"Age Appropriate" is a common phrase at Transitions. Whenever we restore a person's hair we want their  hair to look “age appropriate”.  We can determine the number of hairs per square inch, hair recession, number of grey hairs, etc that will result in a perfectly natural 'age appropriate' result.

Q. I'm only 26 and I like to play sport and go swimming and surfing. Should this concern me?

No. We have many clients, who like yourself, enjoy an active lifestyle. Regardless of the sport you play, how much you sweat or how rough the sport is, we have a process that is suitable for you. Our clients now feel more confident in the water than before (when they had thinning hair), because now they don't worry about others seeing their scalp and thin hair. Instead, they are confident with their hair and are able to get on with the business of living.

Q. How do I know if it’s alopecia?

All forms of hair loss are a kind of alopecia.  Typcial male pattern baldness is called Androgenetic Alopecia.  This is the most common form of hair loss and thinning hair.  Other less common forms of Alopecia, such as Alopecia Areata, generally start with small round patches of hair loss.  These typically go away after a few weeks or months.  However, sometimes they become more significant.  This is where Alopecia Areata turns into Alopecia Totalis or Universalis.  It is impossible to know whether Alopecia Areata will turn into other forms of Alopecia.  For further information on Alopecia please go to our Hair loss information section for men or women.
